The Room Rules
Last updated: August 2026
You were reviewed by a person
Every application is read by hand. You’re here because someone decided you belonged in the room — not because you paid, and not because a form let you through.
We’d ask you to treat everyone here as having passed the same bar.
What is said here stays here
People talk about what they’re building before it’s public. What isn’t working. What they need and haven’t told anyone else.
That only happens if it’s safe.
Don’t repeat what you hear. Don’t share another member’s contact details without asking them first. If you’re unsure whether something was meant to travel, assume it wasn’t.
Come to give, not to extract
The room runs on a simple exchange: what you’re building, what you need, and what you can offer.
Members who only take become visible quickly. They’re also the one thing that kills a community like this.
Nobody pitches — everybody helps
This is the rule people misunderstand, so we’ll be precise.
You may not approach someone to sell. Not at an event, not afterwards, not in The Room. No pitching, no cold outreach to members, no treating this as a list.
But if someone says what they need, answer them. That’s the whole point. If a member is looking for help with funding, or a designer, or someone who has built what they’re about to build — and that’s you — step forward.
The difference is who started it. Being asked is the product. Not being asked is the rule.
We photograph the experiences
Photos and film are taken at most events and may be used to show what itssomwhere is.
Tell us if you’d rather not appear. It’s a normal request, it takes one message, and it changes nothing about your standing here.
What membership costs
Membership is free. It always has been and it stays that way.
Experiences are ticketed separately. Prices are shown before you book, and nobody is ever charged for something they didn’t choose.
The Room — our platform, arriving later — will be a paid subscription for everyone: members, partners and founding stars alike. You’ll know the price well before it launches, and you’re free to remain a member without it.
Places at experiences are limited. Members who subscribe to The Room are guaranteed a seat, up to half the places at any experience. The rest stay open to every member. Free membership is not a waiting list.
You can leave whenever you want
No notice, no explanation, no exit conversation. Tell us and it’s done. Your details are removed.
And we can ask you to leave
Rarely. Never without telling you why.
The reasons it would happen: breaking a confidence, treating members as leads, or making the room feel unsafe for someone else.
This is early
itssomwhere is being built now, and the people here are shaping what it becomes.
If something isn’t working — an experience that fell flat, a person who made you uncomfortable, a decision you’d have made differently — tell us. We’d rather hear it than lose you.
By applying, you’re agreeing to the above.
