What We Owe Each Other
Last updated: August 2026
Why you were asked
We don’t sell partnerships. We approach organisations we’d want our members to know about, and we accept applications from those who find us first — the same way we accept members.
You’re here because we think the people in this community would genuinely benefit from what you do. That’s the only reason anyone is.
Two kinds of partner
Community Partners help members directly — law firms, accountants, banks, funds, software and AI companies, recruiters, universities, wellness practices. You contribute expertise, services or opportunity.
Experience Partners are the places where the community happens — cafés, wine bars, rooftops, sports clubs, hotels, retreats. You contribute the room, and something of what makes it yours.
Some partners are both. That’s fine.
Places are limited
We accept no more than three partners in any one category. One or two in most.
This isn’t a sales tactic. A room with four law firms in it stops being a community and becomes a marketplace, and the members are the ones who lose. When a category is full, it’s full — we’ll tell you honestly rather than keep you waiting.
What you contribute
There is no fee to be a partner. What you give is what you do — advice, services, a space, an opportunity, a perk that’s genuinely worth having.
We’ll agree the specifics with you in writing, separately and plainly, and neither of us is bound to anything we didn’t discuss.
What you receive
- Presence in Our Network on itssomwhere.com — your name, your mark, what you do, and a link
- Presence at the experiences you’re involved in, appropriate to your involvement and never intrusive
- Access to the community — you meet the members like anyone else, in the room, as a person
- First refusal on collaborations that fit what you do
What you will not receive: a mailing list, member contact details, or the right to market to anyone.
The rule that matters most
This is the one partners find hardest, and it’s the one we’ll end a partnership over.
You may not approach members to sell. Not at an event, not afterwards, not through the community. No pitching, no cold outreach, no treating this as a source of leads. The members are not a customer list, and the moment they feel like one, the room stops being worth being in.
But when a member says what they need, answer them. That is the entire point of your being here. If someone is looking for exactly what you offer, step forward — and let it be the beginning of something real.
Being asked is the product. Not being asked is the rule.
We know this is a harder line for a business than for an individual. We’re asking anyway, because it’s the only thing that makes access to this community worth having.
Photography
Photos and film are taken at most experiences and may be used to show what itssomwhere is — including images of your space, your team and your work, where you’re involved.
You’re free to use those images too. Tell us if there’s something you’d rather we didn’t publish.
The Room
Our platform arrives later. It will be a paid subscription for everyone — members, partners and founding stars alike. Partnership doesn’t include it, and you’ll know the price well before it launches.
How long this lasts
A year at a time, reviewed by both of us before it renews. Neither of us needs a reason to stop.
If you want to end it earlier, tell us. We’ll take your listing down within a few days and part on good terms — we’d rather have a former partner who speaks well of us than a current one who feels stuck.
When we would end it
Rarely, and never without a conversation first.
The reasons: approaching members to sell, sharing or using member information, or conduct at an experience that made someone feel unwelcome.
We’re early, and so is this
itssomwhere is being built now. The partners who join at this stage aren’t buying visibility in something finished — they’re helping decide what it becomes.
Tell us what’s working and what isn’t. We’d rather hear it.
The specifics of your partnership — what you contribute, how you appear, which experiences you’re part of — are agreed separately in writing and form part of this understanding.
